Many people have no idea what it takes to be successful in basketball? At some point, you have to look at your goals and determine if your habits today are on par with the results you expect in the future.
Are you mentally tough enough?
Are you physically tough enough?
Do you have TIME to do what it will take to be successful?
The best players are very mentally tough. In order to play at a high level, you have to endure a rigorous training regimen. Many players can get through a day or even a week of tough workouts but the best players are mentally tough enough to create habits that will help them achieve their goals. Most players would be surprised at what their bodies could do if they set their mind to it.
Basketball players are some of the most athletic people in the world. It’s important that you put your body in a position to succeed by taking care of it. You have to be FAST, STRONG, FLEXIBLE, and DURABLE which doesn’t come easy.
Do you have the time?
Basketball is a very competitive sport. If you really want to standout, you have to outwork your competition. It is unrealistic to think that you can get full-time results with part-time effort. The fact of the matter is, you probably won’t be really good at 100 different things. If you are splitting your attention between (school, basketball, football, soccer, hanging with friends, video games, playing an instrument, boy scouts, etc…) you probably won’t achieve greatness in any of those areas. Focus on the things that matter the most IF you want to be great at it.
